Explore the art of crafting wood into music
“The guitar, before being an instrument, was a tree, in which birds sang. Wood knew music long before becoming an instrument”
Atahualpa Yupanqui
About the craftsmanship
Since 1996 I started building instruments influenced by the Spanish craftsmanship technique, solely handmade, following the footsteps of the great masters (Torres, Hauser, Fleta, Simplicio, among others). My focus is on applied acoustics.
“One of the most outstanding qualities of this guitar is the entity of the sound of each one of the strings, and therefore, the ease with which the passage of the different voices can be highlighted. This ease of melody and counterpoint is not to the detriment of harmonic clarity; very much on the contrary. A single note already says something. It is endearing: because when I play it, I return again and again to the fascination of my childhood for music.”
Edgar Ferrer – Orquestra Director and Maestro.
“Fernando Rubin’s Guitars offer everything a guitarist may wish. Body in the basses, singing in the high tones. His guitar provides everything music needs. It is a privilege to be able to play with one of these instruments at my concerts around the world.”
